Halley spent the night last night. Here are some photos from our time together.
I moved to Wilmington back in 1994. It was a new town and I was dealing with the death of a friend in a car accident in which I was left with a fractured spine. Life was much different then. Looking back, it almost seems like it was another life altogether. And I really didn't know anyone. During that time, I came into contact with a guy named Rusty who was also in college. He introduced me to his family who kind of took me in. The relationship with the Kling family was one that helped me get through those transient times. They are such a wonderful and caring family and I am very grateful for my time with them.
Flash forward about 14 years. Rusty's younger sister, Becky, is now married to Nate with an amazingly beautiful daughter. They were in town visiting her parents and we were able to sneak in a quick shoot before they left. It was a smokin' hot August day but I think we were able to get some great shots downtown. I still can't get over how ridiculously cute their daughter is.
Kirsten & Mike | Wedding Preview
Kirsten, Mike, & the NWA
So I'm here in Charlotte, NC ready to shoot Kirsten & Mike's wedding on Friday which I'm pretty excited about.
But here at the hotel is the NWA convention. That would be the National Wresting Alliance convention. Rumor has it that Ric Flair is in the building. I've seen lots of mullets but no Nature Boy. So, until then, I'll leave you with this little video. The video has one PG-13 part in the first 15 or so seconds.
Here are some shots from Kristina & Patrick's wedding in July. I shot Kristina's bridal earlier this year where I was able to meet her super nice family. The ceremony was held at the Wesleyan Chapel in Scotts Hill with quick drive over to Porter's Neck Country Club for the reception. The lighting at the country club was amazing which made for some great images. And the lively wedding party gave me a lot to shoot.
I would also like to say thank you to Nicki McLaughlin and her staff at Porter's Neck who were amazing all night long. It really does make my job easier knowing that other vendors are not only easy to work with but are a pleasure be with throughout the night. So thank you Nicki & the Porter's Neck staff!
Enjoy the photos!

Katie & Blake are such a fun couple! I enjoyed the way they laughed and how they were content just being in each other’s company on their wedding day. Their day had a few venue moves with the ceremony at St. Thomas Preservation Hall, dinner across the street at the City Club, and dancing and cake afterwards back at St. Thomas Preservation Hall. The venue hopping provided great opportunities for photos and I’m very happy with how these turned out. Below are some of my favorites from Katie & Blake’s wedding.

Last week week we were able to have dinner and a photo session with our good friends Duane & Jessica for Miles' 1 year photos. I remember my 1st shoot with him back when he was a few weeks old. It's been amazing to watch him grow over the past year. Miles is definitely more mobile now that he's walking...the kid can fly!
Enjoy the photos!

Photo shoot, Interrupted
So I was doing a shoot on seamless which was going very well. Enter the Kite Whisperer. Jumping in the shot, getting my pristine paper all dirtied up with shoe prints which had to Photoshopped out, and endless requests.
"Whatcha doing this week? I gotta new board. You want to go to the beach and take pictures of me kite boarding? I gotta new board. There's going to be some wind this week. I'll be at the beach this week if you want to take pictures."
I'll get you soon Jesse. Crazy kid!
So below is 'Photo Shoot, Interrupted.'

Last Service at Roland-Grise
Today was Port City Community Church's last service at the Roland-Grise location. Below are some quick pics of the dinner that was served at the end of the day. Also below are some pics of the new building on 250 Vision Drive from a couple of weeks ago. Port City services will resume in three weeks on July 20.
Update: Head on over to Mike Paschal's blog for some more pics of the places Port City has occupied over the past 8 1/2 years.
