Here are some final shots from our October trip to Townsend, TN. We actually spent the last night in Cherokee, NC to knock off some driving time from the trip back. These shots were taken at the Homestead in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park on the last day of our trip. We had some time before the Pan 'Fer Gold folks opened up shop so we drove up to the Homestead. It was early in the morning and we had just experienced the first cold snap of the season. Dang, it was cold. When we arrived back to Wilmington, we had a nice little surprise that Halley (Donna's little sister) had left for us. I've been pretty busy with engagement shoots & family sessions that I finally got around to putting together a slide show.

So the Cape Fear Fair & Expo was in town last week and I was looking to get some engagement shots that had a different feel. I had just done an engagement shoot with Rebekah & Josh and asked them if they would be up for a night at the fair. I had a great time watching them on the rides and walking through the Fun House. The lighting and pace of the evening was a bit of a challenge but I think we came away with some fun shots. I especially love the shot of them on the carousel. Check out the images below.

Michelle & Will wanted some engagement shots on the beach. When I do beach sessions, I normally head down to the south end of Wrightsville Beach but when they wanted to try Crystal Pier I was completely up for it. We started out under the pier and around the Oceanic. The Town of Wrightsville Beach was kind enough to leave a life guard stand up so we used that as part of the shoot. I’m not sure if we’re supposed to be hanging off that thing but we did it anyway. I’ll be shooting their wedding in September on Summer Rest Road on a 30’ bluff overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway….nice!

I met Rebekah & Josh downtown for their engagement shoot and had a great time. They did an amazing job in front of the camera and were up for just about anything. They allowed me to grab the safe shots and then experiment with some new ideas. They are getting married next May in northern Virginia in an old historic church with the reception being held in the foothills of the Virginia mountains. I'm definitely looking forward to shooting their wedding.

Community with friends is pretty cool. We recently had the chance to have dinner with our friends, the Fews. Brian & Lindsay are great friends and Stella & Oliver are too cute. After dinner, I was able to get some shots of family time. I love taking pictures of people in their natural environments. Below are some of my favs.
